In the first months the 1923, the famine appeared with a threatening force in the country. From the Malësia e Madhe to Konispol thousands of families were in danger to starve of hunger. In these circumstances, on March 12th, 1923 in Korca, thousands of villagers and citizens, came together in a large protest rally, where asked food and the opening of barns of the speculative merchants. This protest served as a spark for protests all over the country.
