On October 15th, 1944, was born the professor and doctor Sali Berisha in Tropoja. He was graduated as cardiologist in the University of Tirana and was specialized in Paris. Except the medical practice he gave lessons on the University of Medicine, and after 1990 he began to engage with political activities becoming one of the main protagonists of Albanian pluralism; he was elected Head of Democratic Party, President of the Republic, Head of Council of ministers.
