Sultan Selimi III, on July 2nd, 1802, promulgated the decree on the regulation of trade, affecting our country as part of the Ottoman Empire. By this act, he intended to establish the laws and regulations in internal and external trade exchanges in accordance with the conditions of capitalist relations that were taking place in Europe.
