The Prince Wied, accompanied during the cruise across the Adriatic Sea from some war-ships of Austro-Hungary, England, France and Italy, disembarked on March 7th, 1914, in Durrës. Wied was recognized as leader of Albania by all the Great Powers, after them other states, including the Balkan states. But under the pressure of the internal turbulences and chauvinist powers, he was forced to leave Albania, six months after his arrival.
