The newspaper “Rilindja” of Kosovo, on April 11th, 1997, brought the terrific balance of the victims of the riots and revolts that broke out in 1997. The city where Ismail Qemali, raised the flag and declared the independence on the eve of the 85th anniversary of this remarkable event, had 113 killed and 75 wounded, Korca 21 killed and 35 wounded, Saranda 18 killed and 34 wounded, Berat 19 killed and 18 wounded. In all of Albania, according to incomplete data had 245 mothers dressed in black and the other 304 who took care to the wounded.
