In New York, on July 1st, 1999, was held the meeting of senior representatives of 18 countries on the problems of establishing civilian and police administration in Kosovo. Under the Peace Agreement of 10 June 1999, the UN chairs the interim administration in Kosovo, while KFOR is responsible for enforcing the law.
