On February 10th, 1903 the society “Shpresa” of Albanian immigrants in Romania, addressed to the French government to intervene at Sublime Porte, to be allowed the establishment of schools in Albanian language. The society reminded to the French that in all the Ottoman Empire only Albanians were forbidden for the education in their own language. For this purpose the society organized many gatherings in many colonies of Albanians in Romania. The purpose was to raise the awareness of Albanian and foreign opinion for our national problems.
