Urban Jarnik
Today is commemorated the prominent Czech Albanologist Urban Jarnik. He has given a great contribution in the development of the Albanian language and Albanian folklore, and also for strengthening the friendship between the Czech and Albanian people. Among his works can be distinguished the “Contribution to the knowledge of the Albanian dialects”, “Tales and Albanian anecdotes” etc. More important is the correspondence of the Albanologist Urban Jarnik with the most important personalities of the Renaissance Naim Frasheri, Jeronim de Rada, Konstandin Kristoforidhi, Thimi Mitko, etc.
