On January 18th, 1992, died the Albanian the engineer Andrea Xega, mineral sciences personality and multifaceted scientist. He was born in Korca in 1907. Finished the Lycée of Korça and was graduated at the High School of Mines and Geology in Saint Etienne, France.He worked as an engineer the mining of Alsace and Laurent and later in Morocco and Algeria.Afterwards he decide to return home, where opened the first coal and chromemining. Collaborated with foreign engineers and for this, after the liberation was arrested and sentenced to death,but works in prison as engineer in Bulqiza mining. He worked there even after the release. Subsequently he was appointed lecturer at the Polytechnic “17 Nëntori” and from 1963, as a designer at the Institute of Mining Studies, where ended about 30 mining projects.
