On July 18, 1923, he died of severe injuries he had taken in the battle for the defense of Drenica, or otherwise called “Little Arberia e Vogel”, Azem Galica. About 70 years of his remains remained in a cave in the mountains of Drenica, where they were placed according to the ambitions left by the deceased, while the Kosovar patriots pulled them out and buried them with honors in his native Galicia.
