In Fransite, Calabria, was born the writer and linguist arbëresh Francesco Solana, nicknamed Dusko Vetmo. At the age of 20 he immigrated to Argentina, where he lived and worked for 20 years. As researcher he became the titular and leaded the Albanian Language Department at the University of Cosenza.
