Beatification Day of Mother Teresa
On October19th, 2003, Mother Teresa was declared “beatified” by Pope John Paul II, as a symbol of aid and respect for “the Poorest of the poor” to whom she devoted the whole life. The Pope John Paul II, who admired the Albanian nun, who died in September 1997 aged 87, expressed the desire to sanctify the believing woman, but reached the penultimate stage, the Beatification. Exactly this day has been declared a national holiday by the Albanian state and the year 2010 which coincides with the birth of the world-famous chertier is declared as the “Year of Mother Teresa”.
