Today is commemorated the patriotic teacher, Daut Boriçi. After graduating for pedagogy in Istanbul, he returned in his birthplace and worked as a teacher, education inspector and as a school director in Shkodra. In the education sector, he also has worked in Istanbul, but in the imperial capital, he intensified the work for the national issue and the liberation of his homeland. There he compiled the prime with the Arabic alphabet and published the “English Alphabet” and “The Albanian prime” books. A French-Albanian dictionary, the autobiography and two diaries, belong to his pen too. He died on November 2nd, 1896.
