Today is commemorated Preng Doçi, patriot, poet and cleric. He was born in Bulgar of Lezha Highlands, in 1846. He followed the theological studies in Shkodra and in Rome. He directed high positions in the church hierarchy as Abbot of Mirdita. He was one of the founders and directors of the society “Bashkimi” in Shkodra. He connected the literary activity with the liberation movement of our nation. He contributed in linguistics and in the development of the Albanian language. He died on February 25th, 1917.
