On October 22nd, 1946, was happened the so-called “Corfu Incident”. Two British warships encountered the mines while they were crossing the strait of Corfu. One of them was sank causing the death of 44 British while the second damaged worship was forced to leave. The England interrupted the diplomatic relations with Albania and raised the issue to the International Court of Justice in The Hague. The conflict between two countries lasted until May 1992.
