In Kosovo, on May 24th, 1992, in 29 election units, over 300,000 voters voted for 100 seats in the Kosovo Parliament and the presidential candidate. Voting was multiparty and was watched by 200 journalists from all over the world. Elections were an indication of the will of Kosovo Albanians, for independence and democracy. The President of the Republic of Kosovo was elected Dr. Ibrahim Rugova.
