On November 3rd,1839, from the Palace of Gjylhanasë, Sultan Abdul Mexhiti, announced the reform that is known in history as the Tanzimat. As a result in the whole Empire, was set an administrative military brutal repression with an unbearable fiscal regime and a multi-year military service. Sami Frashëri, has described the Tanzimat reforms as a second occupation of Albania. In response they caused a huge wave of uprisings in throughout our country.
