In July of the year 518, a great army of Dardani (today Kosovo) destroyed 24 cities, including Dardania’s headquarters, Skupo (today’s Skopje). After the earthquake, Justinian, emperor of Illyrian blood, raised three new towns: Justiniana Prima near Tauriti, now Taor village, not far from Skopje, Justiniana Sekunda near Ulpiana, today Pristina and Justinopolis, in Bederian, today Beder village, east of Taorit.
