In Istanbul, on November 8th, 1908, came the first issue of the biweekly newspaper “Bashkimi”, which was headed by Mihal ShënTepelena. It was published in Albanian language with the Istanbul alphabet and dealt with political and social issues. Special place occupied exposure of hostile policy of the Great Powers and the neighboring chauvinist governments of Albania.
