9 January 1976, died in New York the Major Abaz Kupi

In New York, United States, January 9^th, 1976 died Abaz Kupi serviceman and politician. He served as commander of the gendarmerie in Kruja and Durrës. OnApril 7^th, 1939, he took part in the resistance against the fascist occupation. He was one of the participants of the Conference of Peza, where he was elected a member of the Anti- fascistNational Council as well as the initiator of the Conference of Mukje, and after her failure, he left Albania, and actively participated in the activities of the Committee “Shqipëria e lirë”, operating in the United States and in Western Europe in the Cold War years.
