In Korca on January 28th, 1885 was born Thanas Floqi, one of the first lawyers and Albanian journalists. He was educated in Greece and graduated at the University of Athens as a lawyer. He immigrated to the US and became one of the founders of the company “Malli i Mëmëdheut” and then of the Albanian Federation “Vatra”. He collaborated with press organs that were published in America, especially with the newspaper “Kombi”. In 1908 he returned home and worked as a lawyer in Korca, Vlora, etc.
