In the village of Voshtina, province of Pogon, on February 12th, 1891, was born Pertef Pogoni, prominent figure of the Albanian education, which for 30 years has made a career from teacher to headmaster and then as a titular at the Ministry of Education. He is the first Albanian that finished the Pedagogical Academy of Cannes in France. After returning home he served as a translator in the court of Prince Wilhelm. He has directed the National School of Korca service that brought him the Order of “the Knight of the Legion of Honor”, awarded by the French Government in 1936, meanwhile the King Zog I, gave him the highest award “Commander of the Order of Skanderbeg”.
