On February 13th, 1944 the Nazi occupiers began the operation “Pik” in the Highlands of Gjakova. It was attended by about 5,000 Wehrmacht soldiers and mercenaries. The operation was directed against the base of the National Liberation Movement of Tropoja, which play an important role for all North and Kosovo.
