Former Prime Minister of the Republic of Albania Pandeli Majko, on August 13, 1999, visited Kosovo. This was the first time that an Albanian prime minister violated the land of Kosovo since the creation of the modern Albanian state in 1912. Symbolically, the visit marked the final blow of the so-called “Berlin Wall in Balik”, which divided it Albanians since the beginning of the last century.
