Last night until July 8, the seventh edition of the Balkan Film and Culinary Festival was launched at the Mitrush Kuteli cinema in Pogradec; Is expected to be the world premiere of the Spanish film “Enver Simaku’s Awakening” directed by Marco Lledo Escartin, inspired by Albania in 1997, where they perform: Margarita Xhepa, Tinka Kurti, Ema Andrea and others.
Though years ago, projects such as film festivals were crucified by funding again none of them have been drawn to resist years, despite the quality.
This has caused the summer atmosphere to be heard a bit noisy, especially in the south of Albania where are marked several festivals that go also for tourist purposes.
Entering the seventh edition, the Balkan Film and Culinary Festival organized in Pogradec, holds this ‘legend’ by giving the Balkan nature the artistic space. It is the Art-Impuls association, which is accompanied by the support of the Municipality, the Ministry and the Film Center and the Ministry of Culture of Kosovo, which have given this festival a considerable map of the atmosphere that it creates.
The festival opens with the design of the long Greek film “Invisible”, directed by Dimitris Athantis. Throughout the festival, 64 films will be screened by authors from all Balkan countries. Albania is represented with eight films of young filmmakers. Kosovo is represented by 11 films.
A separate section of the festival is “Mish-Mash”. “This section, which has already become a tradition, aims to co-teach and then train students with different backgrounds and backgrounds on the long road to filmmaking. Young people are trained over a week by film and documentary experts and then decide which of the works they have performed on the festival days will be appreciated with the prize “, the organizers note in the media announcement. “There are many who do not know what the Balkans mean and without knowing it, in the first place we have America among the applicants to bring their films. Then when I answer, I tell you that this festival is only for films from Balkan countries, apologize. Second place is Iran, a country with many film productions, then Turkey comes third, “festival director Eno Milkani told the media. Another novelty is considered by the organizers the last evening of the festival, when the world premiere of the film will be screened by the Spanish thriller “Enver Simaku’s Awakening”, directed by Marco Lledo Escartin. In this film, inspired by Albania in 1997, perform such characters of the Albanian screen as: Margarita Xhepa, Tinka Kurti, Viktor Zhusti, Pirro Milkani, Ema Andrea, Laert Vasili, Lulzim Guhelli.
Films are being projected at the Mitrush Kuteli cinema in the city center, but also on large screens set up outside will also appear for a wider audience. A jury with non-Albanian international experts will evaluate the films, while the award ceremony will be held last night, July 8, following the premiere of the Spanish film.
