Foreign media: London’s Albanian heroes who saved 130 people

Mark Stembridge is praised as a hero by the British press after terror on the “London Bridge” and at the Borough Market.

The owner of a bar-restaurant in this neighborhood of the English capital managed to save 130 people from the hysteria of the aggressors on the streets, sheltering them in his cafeteria.

Stembridge clarifies that its staff, half of whom are ex-soldiers from Albania, have pulled people inside the barracks, while armed people have been run towards the facility. Stembridge lays his 3 Albanian employers the credit for the fact that the situation did not go worse.

Mark Stembridge told Huffington Post that his staff, three of whom were former members of the Albanian Army, helped people enter the restaurant premises, thus escaping the tragedy while drank on the terrace of the cafe.

It also shows that all employees managed to keep their peace even after the clash that suddenly began around the Borough Market area, which was crowded with people who were passing Saturday afternoon.

“Three guys were yelling … I can not say for sure what they are saying but what we saw was that they reluctant to see that we were keeping organized peace,” he says

Mark, claims that police have given some advice on how to act in such situations, since these events have recently become frequent.

So they managed to escape most of the people there, confirming that they also managed to hide the panic in front of the terrorists who took the lives of 7 people and left 48 others injured, 21 of whom are able heavy.

They and all the staff stayed close to almost an hour and a half until they were secured by the police. Employees, between them and 3 Albanians, are considered as the heroes of the recent London attack, the act of which saved the lives of hundreds of people.

“We were lucky that staff members are ex-soldiers. They kept quiet enough. We had about 130 people out on the veranda and pulled them all in.

We made sure everyone was out of danger. There were 3 armed men out there who came crying out, but reluctant to act when they saw that we were somehow organized and changed direction. They went down the bridge going to another shepherd, “says the landlord.

Stembridge also addressed an appeal to authorities that bar and restaurant owners train more for such situations, and also thinks that in the climate, the police presence must be greater.

Britain has faced 3 attacks in 3 months, and in all cases, terrorism has hit what are known as “soft targets.” Some people, – the experts say, – have begun to consider this kind of violence as new normality, and that’s exactly what jihadists want to achieve with such low shocks across Europe.
