The literary world today commemorates the Arbëreshs poetess Antonia Maria Barile. She died at age 23, on April 10th, 1917, and is known as the first poet of Albanian letters. From her pen has remained only a volume of poems titled “Songs”, which was published after her death. Even though modest the poetry of Braila, constitutes an original contribution to the Arbëresh literature and pan Albanian.
