On 7 August 1990, the Serbian Parliament took the official decision to ban Pristina’s “Rilindja” newspaper. By using the space of truncated autonomy, by the first half of 1990, Kosovo Albanians published 86 newspapers and newsletters, literary, cultural and social newspapers; 12 magazines of various thematic and problematic profiles. In this period, there were also 6 local radio stations, which were subordinated to Radio-Television of Pristina. This information network was out of control of censorship. Belgrade and constituted an obstacle to the invasion and assimilation plans of Serbian chauvinists aimed at its liquidation.
